Vertical and horizontal grain can be used for the exact same applications, so this really comes down to which look fits your space:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feature walls<\/li>\n<li>Furniture<\/li>\n<li>Tabletops<\/li>\n<li>Shelving<\/li>\n<li>Decorative cabinetry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Which Way Does the Grain Run?<\/h3>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a detail that trips up a lot of first-time buyers: bamboo grain always runs lengthwise along the panel, never across its width. At the top sits Grade A: smooth, consistent color, minimal natural markings, carefully sanded and built to be seen, not hidden.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s also the only grade you&#8217;ll find here. Lower grades exist elsewhere in the industry, mostly aimed at hidden or purely structural uses where nobody&#8217;s ever going to look twice at the surface.<\/p>\n<p>But if a panel is going anywhere it&#8217;ll actually be seen Grade A is the standard. It is worth insisting on, and it&#8217;s the only standard we work with.<\/p>\n<h3>A\/A Panels: Premium on Both Sides<\/h3>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a label worth understanding: A\/A means both faces of the sheet get the same premium finish. Every panel is sanded to a smooth 180 grit on both sides, so there&#8217;s no &#8220;good face&#8221; and &#8220;back face&#8221; to worry about; both are ready to be seen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what we&#8217;ve built Bamboo Design &amp; Architecture on for the last 20 years, and it&#8217;s the standard most reputable manufacturers hold to as well.<\/p>\n<p>That said, bamboo is a natural material, and no two panels are identical.
